How can physics and physicists help create a thriving low-carbon, environmentally friendly and socially inclusive economy?

Attend the IOP Physics and the Green Economy Summit, an online event, 22 – 25 Nov 2021, to discuss scientific and technological advances in energy generation and decarbonisation, and the practical challenges that need to be overcome.

This online series of events follows COP 26, the United Nations conference on the environment, taking place in Glasgow earlier in November, and the UK Government’s recently published ‘Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution’ that sets out the actions required for our economy to transition to net zero. Physics is fundamental to the technologies that will be required to implement this transition.

Why attend

Join us at the summit for your opportunity to:

  • Learn more about transformative research discoveries and technological innovations that are critical to Net Zero
  • Connect with experts from a wide range of organisations across many sectors and explore topics on inclusion, workforce skills, and infrastructure
  • Network with IOP Fellows and Members, policy makers, researchers, innovators and funders to explore opportunities.
Who should attend
  • Researchers, Innovators, Engineers in academia, research & innovation organisations and business
  • Early career researchers
  • Policy makers and stakeholders
Attend in person at your local hub or online

The programme will include a mix of online plenary sessions, panel discussions, poster sessions, 3min tech pitches and informal networking. There will also be opportunities to network in-person at the London IOP building during the week.
